Correction: didn't do what you wanted which you were unclear about and didn't give me time. The world doesn't revolve around you the instant you snap your fingers. Sometimes I have other things to deal with than your issues but you couldn't be patient.
That's well said, and understandable. For whatever it's worth, there are instances known to my when Simon and/or wife have acted very promptly to tidy up matters when there were immediate and very real threats posed here to members. When this is possible their reactions show they are concerned for everyone's well being. But, as Simon says, some things take some time and members here have to understand that. We must also understand that how we see things may not be how others see the same things.

I wonder if Simon and Vivianne are one and the same person?
Highly unlikely, for a host of reasons.

Hi Eden, Viviane comes across as smart and educated. Unfortunately that does not stop a person from acting like a jackass from time to time, and Viviane is no exception. Neither am I for that matter, and neither are you.
Without mentioning names, sometimes a time-to-time behavior becomes a modus operandi. Of course you know these things, and none of this is said to dissuade you from whatever you end up doing with your ability to participate here. I have no idea of the specific events you allude to and don't really care to know. My recommendation would be that you not let others decide how you're going to act, or when. If you feel like participating here do so. If otherwise then don't. In each case let it be on your terms and for your own reasons. When you happen to bump into an occasional or habitual jackass remember this: there is a reason they act like that, and often those reason are not very pretty.
As for Viviane, let him/her act as s/he wishes, and for his/her own reasons. Let readers decide what to make of it, which is how it should be and is for us all.
I don't recall whether you and I have ever swapped harsh words. Knowing my own ways, we probably have because I tend to be rather straightforward, and I'm no one's follower. If you decide not to participate I'll miss your contributions, and I'll miss that avatar of yours!

Watchtower Policy Claims Another Teenager
by Lee Elder ina tragic story of how the watchtower unduly influenced or brain washed a 14 year old jehovah's witness into martyrdom.
the real irony here is the synthetic blood that failed was a hemoglobin solution, and red blood cells are nothing but tiny doughnut shaped bags of hemoglobin.
any thinking person will conclude that if red cells are blood, then so is hemoglobin.

This is such a tragedy. Every time I let myself read of another one of these preventable deaths troubling ghosts of my past are resurrected.
Watchtower's governing body membership is guilty of crimes against humanity insofar as I'm concerned. They let youths like this go to their graves prematurely over a doctrinal position they are absolutely UNWILLING to stand up and answer for down in the details where it matters. It's disgusting. They are disgusting!

Special Pioneer Couple Living at a Kingdom Hall In Miami FL, get the dreaded Letter
by James Jack injust got a phone call from an older sister saying that a couple that got re-assigned from bethel 4 years ago to live at their kh apartment as special pioneers, just received a letter saying "as of january 2016, your special pioneer assignment will be discontinued".. they live in a south miami kh(snapper creek congregation).. this couple had only served in bethel for 15 years before they were sent out into the special pioneer work.
they are now in their mid 50's and the sister said that they have to find part time jobs to support themselves.. the older sister (does not have a pc or internet), says that the couple are just devastated!

So much for Bethel "family".
Families don't put their members out on the street. Families find a way to take care of their own, even if it means adding water to the stew to make it go-round.

Pledge for Global Assistance Arrangement - $15 per publisher!
by nmthinker inlast night our congregation read a letter for the global assistance arrangement combined with the traveling overseer assistance arrangement.
the "recommended" amount was $15 per publisher, which was well over $1000 for our hall.. it seemed steep.
our congregation does not have this type of money.

I'm a bit puzzled. I though the new arrangement was that basically the congregation submitted virtually all their donations anyway to the Society , keeping only a very small amount for short term essential small items of spending. Is this encouraging an additional donation by the congregation.
The one-time congregation bank account raid was nothing short of theft by consent.
These constant and overlapping cash grabs are an attempt at improving cash flow. Watchtower is funneling (bleeding!) nickels-and-dimes from the masses, which ends up as a serious cash cow for the Org.

It's amazing there aren't more given the scale and frequency of their doctrinal changes but the fact that there aren't demonstrates that the majority don't really have strongly held beliefs about much other than that the society is always right.
That's well said Simon. Here's another version of the same idea:
"Anyone truly familiar with the JW cult understands that their fundamental doctrine is that the word of the Governing Body supercedes the Bible."--Alan Feuerbacher

Canadian JW's exerting themselves vigorously. Really?
by clarity inthere were at least four jw's to one lone man on the street.
they look to be mostly elders.
if they are ... is this the example they really want to set.

I don't find this repulsive at all. Why was it okay for one of us to wake folks up at their own homes on a weekend morning but it's anyways wrong to ask a JW standing on a street corner in broad daylight to answer basic questions about what they're teaching? And the suggestion that 'We'll talk off-camera' is pathetically lame. Aren't these JWs taught to shout their message from the hill tops? Why hide the message under a basket? -

To Elder: We have been lied too all of my JW life stop telling me to go out in service!!!
by Olivia Wilde ini've always maintained a huge sense of justice, when presented with facts and truth i don't tolerate hypocrisy and "fake" my path in life.
i relate to nancy grace from hln, seeking justice and truth.
many friends tell me i would be a great lawyer for my candor and directness, i don't think soo because i honestly do not like confrontation.

I had an experience once as an elder, not precisely as you inquire about but pretty close in another sort of way. I was asked to be the lead local elder helping a young JW couple deal with a terrible medical condition faced by their child. It was understood the couple would face the blood issue, and the whole body of elders wanted me to be the local elder helping them work with the liaison committee. Not one other elder would volunteer to work with me, if I accepted the role. Not even one. So I accepted the assignment and then I informed the whole body of elders at one time that under no circumstances would I pressure this couple to let their child die rather than yield to blood transfusion. They all looked at me like a ghost walked over their collective grave. I asked if anyone had a problem with that. No one said a word. Not a single word.
